Day 1.1: Making Money Online: Is It Possible?

Hello, and welcome to my new blog: Dreaming Realistically! I am a hopeless dreamer on a quest to see if I can make a decent income off the internet without a "real job." Is it possible? Stay with me to find out!

First, let me clarify a few things. I am willing to work, and hard, for my money. I know I've gotta earn it; the question is how? With the Internet shouting solutions right and left, I'm going to use my wits, and my personal talents, to see if I can generate my own income working from home.

So let's start with me. Who am I? My name is Amanda. Last year I graduated with a B. A. in Literature and Writing from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and this year (in August!) I am getting married to the man of my dreams. With debt to pay off and a wedding on the way, you can probably understand why I'm exploring these options. I have worked before, in a bookstore, but there was so much hassle involved and so little of doing what I love (reading and writing) that if I can help it, I never want to go down that road again. What I can do is blog. However, while I've kept several blogs on-and-off over the past couple years, I have never attempted to generate income. I write fiction on those blogs, and it's out there for anyone to see.

Now I'm taking a step forward. If all goes well, I'll write three posts a day here for at least thirty days on my thoughts and discoveries, hopefully sparing everyone who reads this a lot of grief of not having to investigate scams and so forth.

What else will I do? I'm interested in making money offline as well, especially in the area of indie publishing. If you're artsy, or if you wish you were artsy but can't draw anything more complex than a stick figure, I'll share some of my own indie writing and publishing tricks--and how to make money off of it!

So what is there to lose? I'm excited about this new venture, and even if I don't make more than a few pennies, I'm sure I'll learn a lot about Internet marketing strategy, and hopefully you will, too! Check back often for regular updates!
