I've been spending a lot of time online lately, researching "get rich quick" scams and online jobs. Despite all the scams, I remain hopeful that there might be something out there. There is one scheme that I can never tell if it works or not. The math goes for it, but my experience doesn't match up. Is it just me?
This scheme is referrals. Remember the free iPad I didn't get because I couldn't get anyone to sign up? That's my only referral experience to date, though I've joined several more. I have accounts on Neobux, Clixsense, Swagbucks, and PTC Advantage, but I've never even bothered to tell anyone. Why? I'm a bad salesman, that's why. But sometimes I wonder. What would happen if I went all out with one of these? What would happen if I could talk just a couple good friends into joining me? According to the sites, my profits would increase substantially. Tonight I'm joining a few sites that rely heavily on referrals. I'll try not to advertise it here too much, but I will let you know how it's going.
In the meantime, here is a list I have made of ways not to get referrals.
- Spam your friends and family. Send out mass emails telling them all to please sign up.
- Sit around dreaming that someone will join, without taking any action (like I've been doing).
- Make a bunch of different e-mail accounts and pretend to be a bunch of people.
- Run up to a random stranger and beg for help.
- Put messages in bottles and send them off to sea, hoping that maybe a shipwrecked sailor with internet access will be able to help.
Ok, may a list of what not to do hasn't answered my question of what I should do, but at least it got me thinking.
